Answer to Q40
If A + B = 60 and A - B = 40, then what is A ÷ B?
A + B = 60 so, B = 60 - A
A - B = 40 so, A - (60 - A) = 40
A - 60 + A = 40
2A = 40 + 60 = 100
A = 100 ÷ 2 = 50
And, B = 60 - A = 60 - 50 = 10
So, A ÷ B = 50 ÷ 10 = 5
Answer: 5
